Introduction:
The Sony 24-70mm F2.8 ZA SSM Carl Zeiss is a high-speed standard
zoom lens for full-frame and APS-C format cameras. This lens is deliberated by Zeiss but manufactured by Sony based on
Zeiss quality parameters. Construction
of the lens is consisting of 17 fundamentals in 13 groups with two aspheric
elements and two extra-low dispersal elements. Carl Zeiss T* (T star) coating
technology gives higher light diffusion while minimizing sparkle. Sony's SSM
ultrasonic-type focal point motor provides fast and still AF and yes it works
in movie mode as well on SLT cameras. The weight of Sony Alpha 24-70mm F2.8
Carl Zeiss SSM Lens is nearly 1kg which feels a bit massive. However, this is
not very unusual - the Canon and Nikon counterparts have the same weight.

Overview of 24-70mm F2.8 ZA SSM Carl Zeiss:
This lens retains the similar composite
optical design of its forerunner. It has 17 elements, two of which are ED to reduce color blur, and two spherical
elements to reduce spherical deviation and bend. The new Mark II
version has enhanced T* coatings to decrease blur and to develop better image
contrast. The Ultrasonic Auto Focus Motor which is similar to Canon's USM or
Nikon's SWM. The SSM of the Zeiss is ultra-fast, almost silent and perfect.
